7-Day Kilimanjaro Trekking Via Rongai Route

OVERVIEW

The Rongai Route is the only trail that approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the northern side, near the border with Kenya, offering a distinctly different perspective of the mountain. Growing steadily in popularity, it provides a quieter, more secluded trekking experience perfect for adventurers who prefer to avoid the heavier crowds found on other routes. Its gentle, gradual ascent makes Rongai an excellent alternative to the Marangu Route, particularly for climbers seeking a remote and less-traveled path. Thanks to its northerly position, the route also receives significantly less rainfall, making it an ideal choice during the rainy season and a reliable option year-round.
